Face to Face is a mentoring service provided by Beaumont Street
Studios to help people back into employment. It is available free
to anyone in West Yorkshire who is in receipt of Incapacity Benefit,
on the New Deal Programme, or people who are unemployed and lone
parents or over the age of 50.
We work with freelance mentors from all walks of life - they
are not volunteers but professional mentors. They all have different
experiences and expertise to bring to the role of mentor but they
share a common goal; to help people realise their life and work
goals and support people in moving forward in their lives.
A mentor can be someone who gives support and guidance, someone
to talk to outside the immediate circle of family and friends,
someone to encourage and build self confidence, someone to confront
negative behaviour and attitudes. Our mentors can be the link
between the customer and other sources of support. We can accompany
or refer to additional sources of help such as counselling, training,
citizens advice, solicitors, self help groups, specialist support
etc. Mentoring is a basic form of human development where one
person invests time, energy, and personal know-how in assisting
the growth and ability of another
