If you are 18-24 and unemployed for at least 6 months, or 25+ and unemployed for 18 months, and live in Kirklees or Calderdale then you can be eligible for New Deal for Creative Industries.

This service is for people looking to work in Advertising, Architecture, Art and Antiques, Crafts, Design, Designer Fashion, Film and Video, Interactive Leisure Software, Music, Performing Arts, Publishing, Software and Computer Services, Television and Radio. The service covers all aspects of work in these areas - from production and performance, through technical and ancillary trades to management, marketing, sales and retail occupations. Beaumont Street Studios' New Deal for Creative Industries (NDCI) service helps people in Kirklees and Calderdale establish careers in the creative industries. It supports you into employment to help towards your goal of working in this growing sector.

NDCI has full support and involvement creative sector professionals and is available through your Jobcentre Plus (Employment Service). The programme connects you with an experienced professional working in the creative industries who provides ongoing advice and assistance into employment or self-employment in the sector.

NDCI Aims:

Using Beaumont Street Studios' team of professional Creative Industry Advisers, the aim of this programme is to:

• provide advice and specialist information on all aspects of the creative sector
• develop skills and provide realistic planning towards a career in the creative industries
• identify appropriate training and support throughout your time on New Deal
• provide a confidential, non-judgmental service in your area at times to suit you.

All our Creative Industry Advisers are established professionals working in the sector. Once linked to an Adviser, you will be able to meet one-to-one, face-to-face in local venues to discuss your aspirations, ambitions and begin to work towards a career in the creative industries.

Your Creative Industry Adviser is available to you throughout your time on New Deal including your time on an Option or Intensive Activity Period. Your Adviser can help with all aspects of acquiring employment/self employment in the creative sector and, with their experience and ready access to our network of specialist advisers, provide help with the detail of any issue or problem you may face in this field.
