Majors chase Northvibz
Huddersfield R n' B artist Daniel Ryan has
attracted a growing wave of interest from major record companies.
Daniel is currently on the New Deal employment option as a project
development worker at Beaumont Street Studio's Relyte Records.
After writing and producing most of the tracks, he is soon set
to release an R n' B and soul album through the Relyte label.
Daniel is also developing a compilation showcase album for the
label featuring Huddersfield's burgeoning R n' B, soul and Hip
Hop talents. As Daniel says: "When someone breaks out of
Huddersfield then it will open the doors for other people."
But it is his work with garage act, Northvibz that has drawn
a lot of attention from labels like Sony and Universal. With Daniel
performing vocal duties on the five-piece outfit, Northvibz are
about to release a single entitled 'Easy' through London based
Streetbeat Records and the majors are watching with interest the
reaction from clubs and DJ's. A white label of Easy, the first
tune the band wrote together, will be available soon with a full
commercial release later in the year. Formed last year, Northvibz,
who all hail from Huddersfield, recorded all their material for
an album in the town.
The band have appeared at several successful gig up and down
the country but for the moment Daniel says: "We are just
concentrating on getting ourselves established but we hope to
do a gig in Huddersfield in the near future."
