Song writer's Success
Song-writing is challenging at the best of times, but New Deal
for Musicians has given Leeds based songsmith, Rob Ashford, vital
breathing space to concentrate on honing his creative skills.
Now producing a wide variety of original musical material or
interested acts such as indie rock bands, dance acts and even
television production companies, is now looking for a publishing
deal.
"The main thing New Deal or Musicians has given me is the
time to concentrate on song-writing - which is basically the area
of the industry I want to succeed in. The time that I have been
allowed to spend on music has helped me develop my writing skills,"
explained Rob.
"My consultant has been invaluable, especially in going
through the business and marketing side of the music industry.
Having somebody who knows what they are talking about and can
provide good advice is also very motivating for me. Our meetings
have made me think much more about my business approach,"
he said.
Now in his test trading period, Rob, who has written material
for a Halifax based female dance act called Cyan, is now putting
the final touches on marketing packages for several interested
